Tapeworm Species - Taenia Family
Taenia Ovis - Sheep measels
Taenia Hydatigena - False Hydatid
Taenia Pisiformis - Unnamed
These are large canine tapeworms which use sheep (Taenia ovis, Taenia hydatigena) or rabbits (Taenia Pisiformis) as their immediate hosts. The life cycle is similar to the hydatid tapeworm but they are not dangerous to humans. However, the first two worms do cause ecomonic loss in the shepp meat industry.
